What you need to know about Serrapeptase

On this page you can find out find out all the information you need to know about Serrapeptase, including where Serrapeptase comes from and how it works.

Serrapeptase is a proteolytic, bioactive enzyme which was originally found in the intestine of the silkworm. It is now commercially manufactured by fermentation, so as to enable mass production and the benefits this brings. This now "plant grown" enzyme was first noticed about 30 years ago, when it was discovered that silkworms used it to dissolve proteins in their cocoons. Serrapeptase was introduced into the USA as recently as 2002.

Dead and inflamed tissue are two of the key causes of the majority of ailments in the body. Serrapeptase digests (dissolves) non-living tissue, blood clots, cysts, arterial plaque and all inflamed tissue, which is then dispersed. It induces the breakdown of fibrinose tissue and reduces the viscosity of exudates. These substances are broken down by Serrapeptase into harmless Amino Acids and the body then treats them as normal waste products. The inflammatory tissue is literally digested by the enzyme. Studies have also shown that this naturally occuring enzyme has amazing anti-inflammatory, pain relief properties.

Throughout Europe and Asia, Serrapeptase is in large scale clinical use, and it has been found to be a good substitute for Ibuprofen, Salicylates and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Contrary to these drugs, Serrapeptase is a natural, physiologic product. This non-drug supplement does not inhibit prostaglandins and has no gastro-intestinal side effects. It can be taken in capsule or tablet form as a health supplement.

It has been shown in clinical studies that Serrapeptase induces fibrinolytic, anti-inflammatory and anti-edemic (prevents swelling and fluid retention) activity in a number of tissues. Other types of proteolytic enzymes have been found to be less effective than Serrapeptase and it's anti-inflammatory properties.

There is a growing list of conditions that respond to Serrapeptase (SerraEnzyme), including Chronic Bronchitis, Ear, Nose and Throat problems, Sinusitis, Fibrocystic breast disease and Carpal Tunnel/RSI. It is simply taken orally in tablet or capsule form. And what is more, in over 25 years of studies and usage no harmful side effects have been found.

Serrapeptase can be found in several different formats including Serraenzyme, Serraplus, Serranol and Blockbuster Allclear.
